I worked for the same company for 10+ years and was recently let go because my position was eliminated for budget reasons—not a performance issue. So you would think the approval for my unemployment claim would be straightforward. You would be wrong. I was required to prove my identity using IDme. This process included showing both sides of my driver’s license and a selfie done in real time. According to the GDOL this did NOT prove my identity. So my claim has been denied, leaving me with no way to prove my identity. This driver’s license and my face have been sufficient to get my previous job, secure housing, bank accounts, credit cards and loans, register a car and get a speeding ticket, but somehow the GDOL is unable to properly identify me, conveniently when the flow of money is reversed. I have attempted to escalate the issue only to be referred to the same people who make no sense and just keep moving the goal post with the clear intention to deny my claim. The reality is that that is the point—to frustrate you enough that the State of Georgia can keep your money and also ensure a disenfranchised unemployed (or at best not gainfully employed) population. The GDOL employees’ behavior is disgusting and done with the intent to humiliate. These people do not care as they bear no consequences for their actions.

Yes I see all the bad reviews. But today in this office was the exact opposite. The 2 beautiful ladies at the front were nothing short of professional and welcoming. I had an issue and they completely went into solution mode. Other workforce regulars literally were treated like family by them and personally from start to finish they provided me with solutions and figured out the disconnect in my case IMMEDIATELY and quickly rectified it. Awesome team!

I saw all the horrible reviews. I was dreading having to go in and deal with the mess. Well much to my surprise, my experience was nothing like the others. I was the first one there in the am. Ms Cody was warm and very helpful. I listened to her with the other people here and she was warm and kind to everyone while I was here. She seemed caring and eager to help everyone while I was there. Nobody wants to need the Department of Labor, but thank you for my great experience.

DeKalb County official is closed. I was a lil weary about coming downtown. I was in and out with no problems. They had the hiring posters out visible. You hear so much negative stuff I was weary about coming downtown especially from Dekalb County. I had a pleasant experience and looking forward to going to some of the job fairs coming up. Thanks again

Shitty customer support. I thought I got unlucky with one lady but it was all of them. Called several times only for them to transfer the calls without notifying me after telling me “give me a second to look into your account”. One middle aged sounding lady who finally picked up again and was able to have more than a minute of conversation unfortunately gave the SHITTIEST attitude ever. Telling me to wait two months for a refund probably because they’re just so incompetent in processing. Told me an email I can write a notice to, without letting me repeat back the address to confirm it, she said “THATS IT!” With the worst attitude. And hung up immediately. Geniunely what is wrong with everyone working here.
