One of the awesome things about Job Corps back in the day — and I’m not sure if they still offer it — was the variety of opportunities available. I was an athlete and played sports while attending. (Volleyball, basketball track softball to be exact) I also completed HBI (Home Builders Institute), which taught me valuable hands-on skills for maintaining and working on a home. That’s actually where I learned details like turning the screws on light switches and outlets in the same direction so everything looks clean, neat, and professionally finished. I had already earned my high school diploma at the time, but the program still gave me practical life and trade skills I use to this day.

Used to work there in the late 70's and early 80's.. the now Center Director Annie Matthews is a close and Dear Friend for "Life"...!!!
