I have had a very positive experience with the staff in this EDD office over the past three weeks. Everyone was helpful, kind, and straightforward in their advice. For folks complaining, remember the we are lucky to live in a state with this robust of disability and FMLA infrastructure and if we weren’t paying so much in FEDERAL taxes to Republican run welfare states our state services would be even better!!

The staff at this office are always kind and try their best to help you get your benefits. They are not inspectors, though, so expect to wait, have them check your claim status, and if you need to speak with an inspector, to get added to the call-back list. This is the same call-back you would get from calling EDD directly; however, because the call line is so inundated, going in is often the fastest way to speak to someone.

Don't call the number, go in person to get your questions answered. Better to go earlier in the morning when they open at 8. The entrance is on the side along Franklin St. 1. Bring your government ID and Claim ID # 2. Check in with security in the lobby 3. Take the elevator to the 3rd floor 4. At the kiosk, take a number 5. Fill out the paper slip to the left of the kiosk 6. Wait for your number to be called 7. At the window, give your ID and paper slip, then have your questions ready 8. Disability and Paid Family Leave are separate services and counters File for unemployment/SDI and PFL on the FIRST day that your leave starts so it gives time for approval and the checks can be sent sooner.

Garbage institution, worst beaureacratic service of all time, had to visit 5 times to get one claim through with correct documentation. PFL doesnt even keep regular hours, 3 times when I have gone they just say that those workers have left and they’ll call me back. Completely outrageous, have wasted tens of hours of my time. Fix this system

Good staff, good attention, but i give 4 stars because they need mores people to attend and they need mores service in Spanish
