As a concerned parent, I am asking current and former students, parents, and staff of the Fred G. Acosta Job Corps Center to share their experiences regarding student living conditions. I have received reports of concerns involving high indoor temperatures, students experiencing migraines and heat-related illnesses, lack of consistent hot water, and concerns about the quality of meals being provided. Because student health and safety are important, I believe these concerns deserve attention and review. If you or your child have personally experienced these issues, please consider documenting your experience and reporting it through the appropriate Job Corps channels, including the Job Corps Safety Hotline. My goal is not to criticize anyone unfairly, but to ensure that students have a safe, healthy environment in which to live, learn, and succeed. If you have firsthand information, please share your experience respectfully and factually.

Great program! Horrible upper management. A man named Mr.Perry displaced a whole trade’s classroom by firing their instructor without having a new one on the ready. When I was finished my trade, they kept me in Job Corps because their statistics were in the negatives. So I was able to witness students without a trade stuck in academic. The hard construction trades (carpentry, plastering, and masonry) went without water at their trade for 2 weeks when students reported to the higher ups they needed water. Corporate if you’re reading this, Mr. Perry needs to hand in his resignation.

worse school ever, the teachers here have a lot of favoritism. The food yesterday the meat was raw and ive been throwing up since. It takes a lot but you will be mentally drained here. The dorms are horrible as well, girls cant clean after them selves leaving their period pads everywhere. The boys stank every time they walk by

There's a lot of good and a lot of bad coming from this place. Until 2025 hit, everything was getting worse. In the end though I made the most of that place being a student there, got everything they had to offer. I wouldnt go back to work there or be a student just to visit everyone I know and update them on my whereabouts.
