Wonderful location with rich history and such unique food choices. Wish they government in charge was worthy of their jobs. Streets are in terrible shape. Sidewalks are a joke (our visit had an unexpected bill for $60 in crutches and drs appointments when we get home). People rolling joints in the middle of the day on Canal St with tourists walking by. Police are everywhere (probably more so after the attacks a few weeks ago). Barriers are still not constructed as of 1/19. Could be a great place to visit with better leaders.

The French Quarter in New Orleans felt very run down to me. There was a strong unpleasant smell and a lot of trash in the streets, which gave an overall sense of neglect. I didn’t feel safe, as there were many homeless people and some individuals who appeared to be struggling with drug addiction. I visited 8 years ago, and the change is very noticeable; the city seems to have deteriorated quite a bit. The streets are worn down and cleanliness is poor. Overall, it felt decayed and neglected.

Great city to visit and the food is delicious!! I love that it’s very diverse and if all else fails you can hang out in French Quarters. There is so much to see and so many places to tour. They also Louisiana Record Factory filled with vinyl LP’s etc. The only thing I don’t like is the smell and it seems most area smell like urine. And definitely be careful where you park and walk if alone!

There is so much history here. Great restaurants and art scene and a lot of fun to be had. It's a shame the city won't put any money back into repairing the basics. The roads and especially sidewalks are the absolute worst I've seen anywhere. Don't get distracted looking at the sights around you or you will end up falling on your face. There are whole sections just missing everywhere. Also, very little police presence, I suppose they all work the night shift to handle the drunks.

I recently visited the City of New Orleans for a vacation and I was thoroughly impressed. This great city offers something for everyone, whether you are a couple, a group of friends, or a family. The city is filled with amazing attractions and activities, such as the amazing French Quarter, Mardi Gras celebrations, world-class jazz music, and so much more. The food is incredible and there is no shortage of restaurants to choose from. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or just a fun time with friends, New Orleans is a great city to visit. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great vacation destination.
