Typical non-profit shenanigans. Bragging about resources they don't have. Eager to get you into the program so they can bump up their numbers. Then once you jump through all their hoops they stop replying to your emails and calls. I've been in their system for three weeks, doing all the required classes, walking everywhere during a heatwave to make sure everything is done in time. And when it finally was: Ghost town. No calls back, no returned emails or text messages. Every time I call front desk I get told my employment specialist is busy and they'll call me back. And of course they don't, or you get another follow up promising you the resources that are now weeks late. The 'sack lunch' they offer has expired food in it. The hygiene kit was a zip-lock back with socks, toothbrush and loose band-aids. Really wish I didn't waste weeks working through your programs just to be exactly where I was before with less time, less money and less resources. Waited for a list of resources, which were just straight copied from 211OCs website. And even then they were for the wrong county. The lady who looked at my resume just threw it into the AI 'Copilot'. Didn't realize until I started sending it out that it has spelling errors, lists all my jobs as starting in the same year and has gibberish ai-generated nonsense on it. I'm extremely hurt that you've wasted my time, shown little interest in my survival and gone out of your way to ignore me when I needed help most. Robert half, Kimco and Appleone are all nearby and can place you way faster. Avoid at all costs.

A nice place if you need assistance getting back into the work field

Went through a stressful time recently. Rather than sit at home and gripe or cry about it, I enrolled and have been enjoying the training and classes. A good reminder to me that process equals goals and then rewards. From Jim who did the orientation (a volunteer) to the other staff, everyone seems friendly and helpful. Grateful that OC has an agency like this and we should cherish this place whose concept phrase is, protect your check, not your ego. (btw, the coffee is a nice touch, thank you)! This place is good if you were on parole or just out of rehab and looking to rebuild your life and never had a job or experience. They teach very rudimentary job training skills like something in high school. Then they make you go to four classes before they even consider helping you with resources, which I imagine four trips down there for somebody that doesn't have a car is quite a commitment. And they don't even give you job placement. The staff was nice except for my caseworker(Jazmine), I called her out on not responding to my text and she got an attitude with me and told me I wasn't asserting myself because I didn't go to every job fair that she posts.. even though those aren't the jobs I was looking for. They did help me get a certification for forklift but that was after about seven trips down there when all of it could have been expedited over the phone. Caseworker was also complaining to me saying that she has 120 client load as if that excuses her attitude and bad service. Wouldn't waste your time here if you're a true professional. This is more for people that are starting their lives over or something.
